On June 17, 2024, Pieter Beijen from Amersfoort passed away. He was 62 years old.

Pieter (Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Dirk subbranch, 16.9) was born on October 28, 1961 in Hilversum as a son of Anton Beijen and Riek van der Wind.
In 1994 he married Carolien Nicolai. They had two daughters.
Pieter worked in the management of a food company in Lelystad.

On May 29, 2024 Reinier Adriaan Beyen from Haarlem passed away. He was only 59 years old.

Reinier was born on August 5, 1964 in Haarlem as a son of Jan Willem (Pim) Beyen and Odilia Reesink. He belonged to the Nieuwkapelle family, 9.8.
In 1997, Reinier married Claartje Duynstee. They had five children.
Reinier worked as a corporate lawyer at KPN and elsewhere.

On February 25, 2023 Hailey Beyen was born in the Meander Medical Center in Amersfoort.
Her full given names are Hailey Paulyne Isabella.

Hailey is a daughter of Joey Beyen (Dirk Jan subbranch of the Gijsbert branch of the IJsselstein family, 16.22) and Chanel Appelo from Amersfoort.

On October 16, 2022 Wil Beijen passed away in Leur near Nijmegen. He was 89 years old.
Wilhelmus Petrus (Wil) Beijen was born on September 18, 1933 in Nijmegen. He belonged to the Breyell family, 7.7. Wil was the eldest son of Henricus (Harry) Beijen and Maria (Rie) van den Wollenberg.
On October 27, 1959 Wil married Geertruida Anna Elisabeth (Truus) Rutten, who was born in 1937. They lived in Nijmegen and had three sns and a daughter.
Truus Beijen Rutten passed away in 1998.

On October 21, 2022 Beppie Beijen Meijer passed away in Laren near Hilversum. She was 87 years old.
Lamberta Cornelia Hendrika Maria Meijer, as she was called officially, was born in Laren on June 26, 1935.
Op May 17, 1958 she married in Laren Dirk Jan Beijen from the Dirk Jan subbranch of the Gijsbert branch, 14.44. They had a son and two daughters.
Dirk Jan passed away in 1992 in Naarden. He was 61 years old.

On March 9, 2022 Caira Beijen was born in the Franciscus Hospital in Rotterdam.
Caira is the daughter of Boris Beijen (Johan Franco branch of the IJsselstein family, 15.13) and Monisha Mangal. They are living in Vlaardingen.

On August 15, 2021 Leida de Jong Beijen passed away in Capelle aan den IJssel near Rotterdam. She was 87 years old.
Leida (officially Lijdia) Beijen (Dirk subbranch of the Jan Thomas branch, 15.33) was born in Rotterdam on November 10, 1933. She was a daughter of Johan Arie Beijen and Geertje Verzijden.
On October 6, 1954 she married Johannes (Jan) de Jong in Rotterdam. Leida and Jan had three daughters.
Jan de Jong passed away in 1964, only 46 years old.

On February 14, 2021 Riet Ehlers Beijen passed away in Tensfeld, north of Hamburg. She was 97 years old.
Riet was born on June 6, 1923 in Noordwijk. Her official names were Jannetje Frederica Beijen. She belonged to the Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Maarten subbranch, 14.71. Her parents were Gerard Beijen and Maartje van Os.
Riet worked as a nurse in Germany. In 1949 she married Hans Ehlers in Malente in Schleswig-Holstein. Hans was born in Malente in 1920. They had a son and a daughter.
Hans Ehlers died in 1962. Afterwards Riet moved to Eutin. For some years she lived in a nursing home in Tensfeld.


On February 6, 2021 Guus Albert Beijen was born in Utrecht.
Guus is the second son of Albert Beijen (Jan Thomas branch, Dirk subbranch, 16.15) and Ingeborg Beijen Klessens.
They are living in Utrecht, together with Joris, who was born in 2018.
Guus and Ingeborg are well.

On November 24, 2020 Gijs (officially Gijsbert) Beijen from Kinderdijk passed away. He was 92 years old.
Gijs Beijen (Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Dirk subbranch, 15.11) was born in 1928 in Jaarsveld (province of Utrecht) as a son of Pieter Beijen and Anna de Leeuw. In 1953 he married Annie Rietveld. They had two daughters.
Gijs worked as an engineer at the water board De Overwaard. He lived with his family in Kinderdijk, close to the famous windmills.
On November 24, 2020 he passed away in Kinderdijk, one day before the 67th wedding anniversary of Gijs and Annie.

On July 27, 2020 Liset Beijen and Jeroen Mol married in the city office of Leiden.

Liset is a member of the Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Gerrit subbranch, 17.34).
She was born in Benthuizen near Zoetermeer and is living in Leiden. She works in a hairdresser's in Leiden.
Jeroen was born in Rotterdam. He is a vegetable specialist.


On April 13, 2020 Kasper Beijen was born in Groningen.
Kasper is the second son of Wander Beijen of the Jan Thomas branch, Maarten subbranch, and Astrid Beijen den Boer.
Their eldest son, Simon, became three years old a few days after Kasper's birth.
The delivery was at Astrid and Wander's home. Kasper and his parents are doing well.

On February 20, 2020 Frederick Beijen and Sanne Stegehuis married in the city hall of Hengelo.
Frederick belongs to the Hengelo family, Beijen-Spekreis division (8.21). Frederick and Sanne were both born in Hengelo.
Sanne is the owner of a flower shop in Hengelo; Frederick works at an electrical engineering wholesaler.
Frederick has chosen to carry the name Stegehuis from now on.
They have two daughters, who are also called Stegehuis.


On February 26, 2020 Flora Fokker Beijen passed away in Asperen. She was 93 years old.
Flora Aria Beijen (Gijsbert branch of the IJsselstein family, Arie subbranch, 14.1) was born in 1927 in Vreeswijk (now a part of Nieuwegein). She was a daughter of Bastiaan Beijen and Wilhelmina Verburg. Her father passed away when she was eight months old.
In 1946 Flora married Gijsbertus (Gijs) Fokker, who was born in IJsselstein. They lived in Vreeswijk and Asperen and had three children.
The photo was taken in 2006 when Flora and Gijs were married for sixty years. Gijs Fokker is now 95 years old. He still lives at home.


On February 22, 2020 Geo Beijen from Haren (near Groningen) passed away. He was 81 years old.
Geo (officially Gerrit Jacob, Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Dirk subbranch, 15.2) was born in 1938 in The Hague.
In 1970 Geo married Erika Onnes. They had two children.
Geo worked as an environmental inspector at the national government and was based in Middelburg, Groningen and Willemstad (Curaçao).
Erika passed away in 2013.

On November 8, 2019 Pierson Jan Beijen was born. His parents call him Tabor.

Tabor is the son of Kim Beijen from the Jan Thomas branch, Gerrit subbranch, and her wife Karin Beijen Zomer. They are living in IJsselstein, and that is the city where Tabor was born.

On November 6, 2019 Ingrid Beijen and Leen Braat from Heijningen (province of Noord-Brabant) married in Klundert (municipality of Moerdijk).

Ingrid (Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Dirk subbranch, 16.39) was born in 1964 in Rotterdam. Later she and her parents moved to the village of Hekelingen, where she got to know the Braat family. Since 2007 Ingrid lives with Leen in Heijningen.

Ingrid has a practice as a horse coach (http://www.ingridbeijen.nl/).


On November 22, 2019 Peter Beijen from Sudbury (Ontario, Canada) passed away. He was 88 years old.

Peter Michael Beijen (Breyell family, 7.3) was born in 1931 in Nijmegen. He was a son of Matheus A.P.H. Beijen and Petronella E. Schetselaar. A picture of their family can be seen at the page The younger generations of the Breyell family.
Peter Beijen emigrated to Canada in the 1950s. He worked as an insurance agent.

On August 19, 2019 there was a large interview with Erik Beijen from The Hague in the Dutch newspaper de Volkskrant.

Erik (Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, 15.45) talked about his unexpected experiences as a donor father. He has built up a good relationship with his children whom he met to his surprise.

On August 6, 2019 Mrs Mies Beijen Heerbaart from Hengelo passed away. She had reached the beautiful age of 99 years.

Mies (official names Hermina Paulina) Heerbaart was born in 1920 in Hengelo. In 1951 she married Franciscus (Frans) Beijen (Hengelo family, Beijen-Spekreis division, 6.19). They had four sons. Frans Beijen passed away in 1987.

Björn Beijen and Elena Shtukina from Bemmel in the province of Gelderland married on March 7, 2019 in Curaçao.

Björn (official names Henricus Gerhardus Bernardus, Hengelo family, Beijen-Overbeek division, 8.3) was born in 1970 in Tilburg. Elena was born in 1976 in Amursk in Russia.

On the picture their one and a half years old son Matthew is sitting between them.


Breanna Beijen and Adam Chapman married on March 18, 2019.

Breanna Ray Beijen (Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, 17.58) was born in 1991 in Little Rock (Arkansas) and grew up in the neighbouring city of Morrilton. She is a daughter of Brian James Beijen and Patti Eugenia Hart. Her great-grandfather, Jan C. Beijen (John C. Beyen), was born in 1917 in Bodegraven (Netherlands). In 1956 he and his family emigrated to the USA.
Adam Chapman comes from Greenbrier and lives and works in Conway (Arkansas).


On February 14, 2019 Lenie Wessels Beijen from Vriezenveen in the province of Overijssel passed away. She was 93 years old.
Leentje Cornelia Jannigje Beijen (Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, 14.62) was born in 1926 in Kamerik in the province of Utrecht. She was the youngest daughter of Anthonij (Toon) Beijen and Trijntje Nap.
In 1952 Lenie married Johan Wessels in Kamerik. They lived in Vriezenveen, where Johan was born. The had four children. Johan Wessels passed away in 2013.

On November 17, 2018 Harmina (Mini) Pluijm Beijen from Olst (Overijssel) passed away in Deventer. She was 91 years old.

Harmina Beijen was born in 1927 in Lochem. She was the youngest of the three daughters of Frans Beijen and Rika Bolte. She belonged to the Gijsbert branch of the IJsselstein family, 13.9.
In 1967 she married Johannes Alexander Nicolaas (Jan) Pluijm. They didn't have children together. Jan Pluijm passed away in 2004.

On July 3, 2018 Mr Floor Beijen from Soest passed away. He was nearly 95 years old.
Floor was born in 1923 in Utrecht, but he lived almost all his life in Soest. He belonged to the Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, 15.67.

On March 9, 2018 Joris Franciscus Cornelis Beijen was born in Utrecht.
Joris is the son of Albert Beijen from the Jan Thomas branch, Dirk subbranch, and Ingeborg Beijen Klessens. They are living in Soest in the province of Utrecht.
Joris and Ingeborg are very well.

A message received later: on September 15, 2017 Matthew Marinus Beijen was born in Nijmegen.
Matthew is the son of Björn (officially Henricus G.B.) Beijen from the Hengelo family and Elena Shtukina. They are living in Bemmel near Nijmegen

On January 23, 2018 Rosa Marie Beijen was born in the Leiden University Medical Center in Leiden.
Rosa is the second daughter of Frank Beijen and Vanda de Haan, and the sister of Lea. She is our sixth grandchild.
Rosa and Vanda are very well.

On July 5, 2017 Mrs Marjorie Beijen (born Blackwood) from Christchurch (New Zealand) passed away. She was 81 years old.
Marjorie Elizabeth Blackwood was born in 1936 in Christchurch. In 1962 she married Jan Beijen (Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, 14.53). Jan was born in The Hague en had emigrated to New Zealand around 1960. They had five children.
Jan worked as a pilot. In 1969 he was killed by a helicopter accident. At that time the eldest child was 6 years old, the youngest 4 months. Marjorie raised the children alone and remained involved with her children and grandchildren until a high age.

A message received later: on March 5, 2017 Annebel Kim Anh Beijen was born at home in Bilthoven.
Annebel is the second daughter of Marc Beijen (Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Gerrit subbranch, 17.32) and Thuy To. Their elder daughter is named Chloe.

On June 14, 2017 Cor Beijen from Serrano (province of Lecce, Italia) passed away due to lung cancer. He was 70 years old.
Cornelis Pieter Beijen (Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, 16.17) was born in 1947 in The Hague. He was a son van Amel F. Beijen and Anna F. Sijl. In 1966, during a holiday at Lake Garda, he met the Italian Giuseppa (Pina) Gentile. They married in Milan in 1969 and lived in The Hague. They had one son.
For many years Cor Beijen worked at the Dutch Ministry of Social Affairs. After his early retirement, Cor and Pina moved in 2006 to Italy, in "the heel of the boot".


On June 3, 2017 Hart Beijen and Cameron Goad had their wedding ceremony in the Antioch Baptist Church in Conway (Arkansas).
Hart LaShaye Beijen (Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, 17.58) was born in 1996 in Little Rock (Arkansas) and grew up in the neighbouring city of Morrilton. She is a daughter of Brian James Beijen and Patti Eugenia Hart. Her great-grandfather, Jan C. Beijen (John C. Beyen), was born in 1917 in Bodegraven (Netherlands). In 1956 he and his family emigrated to the USA.
Cameron Mason Goad grew up in Greenbrier (Arkansas).


On June 1, 2017 Jolie Maria Beijen was born in the Flevo Hospital in Almere.
Jolie is the daughter of Eline van Rijnsoever and Martijn Beijen. Martijn has got two sons before: Dex and Boaz.

On March 24, 2017 Mrs Anna Maria (Ans) Scholten Beijen Roghair passed away in Sant Antoni de Calonge, Spain. She was 98 years old.
In 1919 she was born in Amsterdam as Anna Maria Roghair. In 1922 her father Frits Roghair was given permission to change the family name into Beijen Roghair in honour to his biological father Frits Beijen.
In 1948 Ans Beijen Roghair married Daan Scholten, who was born in 1904. They had no children. Ans worked in an embassy and for a publishing company. Around 1972 she and her husband moved to Spain. Daan Scholten passed away in 1998.

On October 17, 2016 Sebas Beijen was born. Sebas is a son of Jessica Beijen de Goeij and Johan Beijen. At his birth, at home in Vianen, his weight was 3620 grams and his length 50 cms. His parents and his elder brother Benjamin are very proud.

On October 13, 2016 Gioia Beijen was born in the Flevo Hospital in Almere after an exciting delivery.

Gioia is the daughter of Jolijn Beijen from the Johan Franco branch of the IJsselstein family (16.4).

On September 27, 2016 Mr Ferry Beijen passed away. He was 87 years old.
Ferry (officially Ferdinand Gijsbert) Beijen was born in 1929 in Nijmegen. He was a son of Matheus A.P.H. Beijen and Petronella E. Schetselaar, and he belonged to the Breyell family (number 7.2).
Ferry Beijen was the owner of an elektrotechnical company in Amsterdam. Since the 70's he had, after a previous marriage, a relationship with Willeke Casteren van Cattenburgh.
Around 1996, when Ferry had stopped his professional career, he and Willeke moved from Amsterdam to the southern part of the province of Limburg.


On September 19, 2016 Broer Beijen was born in the Diaconessenhuis Hospital in Utrecht.

Broer is the son of Francesco Marinho Domingus Beijen (Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Dirk subbranch, 17.28) and Wouke de Jong.

On September 15, 2016 Leah Norah Beijen was born in the St. Antonius Hospital in Nieuwegein. She is the daughter of Jeffrey Beijen and Maureen de Beer from Nieuwegein and the sister of Dane. Because Leah's birth was premature, she had to stay in the hospital for some time. On October 17 she was allowed to go home.

Leah belongs to the Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Gerrit subbranch, and has got the number 18.10.


Op July 24, 2016 our fourth grandchild and our first granddaughter Lea Bloem Beijen was born in the Leiden University Medical Center.

Lea is the first child of Frank Beijen and Vanda de Haan. Lea and her proud parents are very well.

On July 10, 2016 my uncle Cornelis (Cees) Beijen from Veghel passed away in an hospice in Sint-Oedenrode, where he lived since eight days. He was 90 years old.
Cees Beijen (Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Gerrit subbranch, 14.95) was born in 1925 in Kamerik. In 1925 he married Neeltje (Nel) Senten.
For the greater part of their lives Cees and Nel lived in Veghel in the province of North Brabant. Cees worked there as an officer of the National Police.
Nel passed away in 2004.


On April 3, 2016 Chloe Minh Anh Beijen was born in a hospital in Utrecht.
Chloe is the daughter of Marc Beijen (Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Gerrit subbranch, 17.32) and Thuy To.

Marc, Thuy and Chloe are living in Bilthoven near Utrecht.


On February 22, 2016 Tinie Joanna Beyen passed away in Tiel in the province of Gelderland. She was 60 years old.
Tinie (Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Maarten subbranch, 15.48) was born in 1955 in Port Hope, Canada. Her parents and her sister lived there at that time. Later on the family returned to the Netherlands. In the Canadian birth certificate Tinie was given the name Beyen, although the name of her father was Beijen. She continued to write her name as Beyen, in contrary to her sisters who were born in the Netherlands.
Tinie was a pastor in the Dutch Reformed Church. In 2005 she married Mieke Bregman, who is a pastor as well.

On January 30, 2016 Willy Beijen passed away in his home in Hengelo. He was 92 years old.
Willem Johannes Beijen (Hengelo family, 6.9) was born in 1923. He was a son of Jan Willem Beijen and Grada Johanna Wolters. In 1953 he married Theresia Maria (Trees) Kerkhof. They had three children and were living in Hengelo for their whole life.
Willy Beijen worked as an electrotechnician at the companies Krans in Hengelo and Texas Instruments in Almelo.
His wife Trees passed away in 1992.

On January 29, 2016 Roef Eri Jan Beijen was born in the Sint Lucas Andreas Hospital in Amsterdam. Roef is the son of Sanne Beijen. Roef's second given name Eri refers to Sanne's mother Erika Beijen Onnes, who passed away in 2013.
Roef and Sanne are very well.

On November 12, 2015 Frank Beijen and Vanda de Haan had their wedding ceremony in Groningen.
Frank (Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Gerrit subbranch, 16.84) is my youngest son.

The wedding party was in a relatively small family circle. There will be a greater party after Frank and Vanda have moved to their new home.

On November 7, 2015 Lucas Robertus Karlheinz Beijen was born in the hospital in Almelo.
Because Lucas was a preterm baby, he needed special care in the beginning, but on November 19 he could leave the intensive care unit.

Lucas is the son of Jos Beijen and Anja Beijen Drecksträter from Hengelo. He has two sisters: Fleur and Ellen.

Lucas belongs to the Hengelo family. On the overview of the members of that family he can be found at the number 9.15.


On September 1, 2015 Dane Calvin Beijen was born in a hospital in Woerden. He is the first child of Jeffrey Beijen and Maureen de Beer from Nieuwegein.

Dane belongs to the Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Gerrit subbranch, and has got in that branch the number 18.9.

Dane is very well.


On August 27, 2015 Joey Beyen and Karen Lewis from Hilversum had a great wedding party.
Joey belongs to the Gijsbert branch of the IJsselstein family, Dirk Jan subbranch, 16.14.
Karen and Joey have a two years old son: Ethan Kian Lewis.

On August 4, 2015 Mrs Maria Magdalena (Lenie) de Roy van Zuydewijn née Beyen from Heerlen passed away. She was 85 years old.
Lenie Beyen belonged to the Johan Franco branch of the IJsselstein family, 13.5. She was born in 1930 in Tasikmalaya on Western Java as a daughter of Hendrik Rudolph Beijen (Junior) and Martha Serina.
In 1952 she married Anton Eduard (Eddy) de Roy van Zuydewijn in Tasikmalaya. The had three sons.
In 1958 the family moved to the Netherlands because of the disagreements between Indonesia and the Netherlands about New Guinea.
Lenie was a widow since 2010, when her husband Eddy passed away.

On July 24, 2015 Merel Beijen was born. She is the first child of Emma Beijen Varèl and Wouter Beijen from Zeewolde in the province of Flevoland.

Merel belongs to the Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Gerrit subbranch. On the overview of the members of that branch she can be found at the number 18.8.

A message received later: on June 29, 2015 Jens Willem Gerritjan Beijen was born in Amersfoort.

Jens is the son of Harold Beijen and Floor Beijen Koning and the brother of Isa Beijen.
He belongs to the Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Maarten subbranch. On the overview of that branch she has the number 17.30.


On May 8, 2015 Mrs Maria (Riet) Beijen Klaassen from Benthuizen in the province of South Holland passed away. She was 68 years old.
Riet Klaassen was born in 1947 in Harderwijk. In 1968 she married Arian (Aart) Beijen (Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Gerrit subbranch, 16.67). They had two daughters.
In the first years the family were living in Bilthoven, but afterwards they moved to Benthuizen.
Aart passed away in 2010.

On November 16, 2014 Mrs Anna Koppers Beijen from Dordrecht passed away at the beautiful age of 95 years.
Anna Beijen belonged to the Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Dirk subbranch, 15.5. She was born in 1919 in Heemstede as a daughter of Peter Beijen and Jelske van der Heide. In 1938 she married Jacques Albertus Koppers and in 1949, after their divorce, Wilhelmus Andries Koppers (no close relatives). In both marriages Anna gave birth to a daughter.
Willem Koppers passed away in 1982. When Anna died, she had besides her two daughters 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

On September 19, 2014 Wander Beijen and Astrid den Boer from Groningen got married in the museum Nienoord in Leek near Groningen.

Wander belongs to the Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Maarten subbranch, 16.63.

Astrid is a staff member of the University of Groningen, Wander works at the municipality of Opsterland in the province of Friesland.


On September 4, 2014 Cornelis Maarten (Kees) Beijen from Heemstede passed away after a heart attack. He was 86 years old and belonged to the Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Maarten subbranch, 14.73. He was born in 1928 in Noordwijk as a son of Gerard Beijen and Maartje van Os. Kees worked as an urban planner for several municipalities.
In 1950 he married Co van der Luijt. They had three children. After their divorce he had a relationship with Gerda Boot, who passed away in 2006, and afterwards with Tiny van Winden Schep.

On August 5, 2014, five months after his wife, Mr Geert Hekman passed away in IJsselstein. He was 89 years old.
Geert Roelf Hekman was born in 1924 in Winschoten in the province of Groningen. In 1951 he married in Canada Johanna (Annie) Beijen from the Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Dirk subbranch, 15.8. They had two daughters. Around 1967 they returned to the Netherlands.

Hans Beijen passed away on July 19, 2014, in his home in Vianen. He was 60 years old and had been ill for a long time.
Hans (officially Johan Carel) Beijen was born in 1954 in Utrecht. He was one of the four sons of Jilles Beijen and Nel Tetenburg, and belonged to the Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Gerrit branch, 16.74.
In 1976 Hans married Carla Smit. They had two daughters and a son.


Mr Floris Jan Beijen (Senior) passed away on July 18 in Rotterdam. He was 87 years old.
Floor Beijen belonged to the Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Dirk subbranch, 15.31. He was born in 1926 in Rotterdam as the eldest son of Johan Arie Beijen and Geertje Verzijden.
In 1951 Floor married Arentje Meijer. They had two daughters and a son: Floris Jan Junior. In later years the marriage ended by divorce.

For many years Floor Beijen had a café in Rotterdam. It is still in use and has still his name: Café Floor Beijen.

On June 17, 2014 Mr Adrie Beijen passed away in Utrecht. He was 61 years old.
Adrie (officially Arie Pieter) Beijen belonged to the Gijsbert branch of the IJsselstein family, Arie subbranch, 14.10. He was born in 1953 in Utrecht as a son of Pieter Beijen and Catharina Elisabeth Scheidt.
In 1985 he married Petra Kragting. She was born in Utrecht as well. They had two children.
Adrie had been ill for quite a long time.

On May 22, 2014 Mr Aart Beijen from Culemborg passed away in the hospital in Nieuwegein. He was 74 years old.
Aart Beijen (Gijsbert branch of the IJsselstein family, Arie subbranch, 14.3) was born in 1939 in Vianen as a son of Anne Beijen and Hendriëtta Versluis. In 1962 he married Elisabeth (Bets) Terwoert. They lived in Culemborg and had three children, the first of which died in infancy.
Aart was an electrotechnician, but music was his passion. For many years he was the conductor of several orchestras. On Youtube a short video is commemorating him.

On March 12, 2014 Mrs Johanna (Annie) Hekman Beijen passed away in IJsselstein. She was 89 years old.
Annie Beijen was born in 1924 in IJsselstein. She belonged to the Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Dirk subbranch, 15.8. In 1951 she married in Canada Geert Rolf Hekman. He was born in Winschoten in the province of Groningen. They had two daughters. Around 1967 they returned to the Netherlands. In the last years Annie's health declined. In 2010 she moved to a nursing home.

On December 7, 2013 Mrs Helen Lakerveld-Beyen passed away in Gouda. She was 93 years old.
Helen belonged to the Gijsbert branch of the IJsselstein family, Dirk Jan subbranch, 14.28. She was born in 1920 in Leith near Edinburgh. Her father, Theodorus Beijen Junior, had moved to Scotland and married in 1910 the Scottish Margaret Lynch. In 1923 the family moved to the Netherlands.
In 1948 Helen married Franciscus Hermanus (Frans) Lakerveld, who was born in Gouda. Frans passed away in Gouda in 1997.

On November 16, 2013 Boaz Beijen was born in the Flevo Hospital in Almere. Boaz is the second child of Martijn Beijen and Loura Nienhuis and the brother of Dex, who had his first birthday three days before.
Boaz belongs to the Johan Franco branch of the IJsselstein family. On the overview of that branch he can be found at the number 17.2.


A message received later: on November 3, 2013 Isa Francisca Diet Beijen was born in Utrecht.

Isa is the daughter of Harold Beijen and Floor Beijen Koning. She belongs to the Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Maarten subbranch. On the overview of that branch she has the number 17.29.

The photo was made when Isa was about eight months old.


On September 20, 2013 Benjamin Beijen was born in a hospital in Nieuwegein. He is the first child of Johan Beijen and Jessica Beijen de Goeij from Vianen. Benjamin and his parents are very well.

Benjamin belongs to the Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Gerrit subbranch. On the overview of that branch he can be found at the number 18.11.


On September 6, 2013 Mrs Erika Beijen Onnes from Haren near Groningen passed away. She was 74 years old.
Erika Onnes was born in 1939 in Groningen. In 1970 she married Gerrit Jacob (Geo) Beijen (Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Dirk subbranch, 15.2). They had two children.
For many years Erika was a teacher of French. After her retirement she turned a hobby into a business by starting a wine import company.

On August 19, 2013 Mr Johan Wessels passed away in Vriezenveen in the province of Overijssel. He was 91 years old. Johan lived for all his life in Vriezenveen; the last fifty years in the same farmhouse.

In 1952 Johan Wessels married Leentje C.J. (Lenie) Beijen (Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family, Maarten subbranch, 14.62). She was born in Kamerik in the province of Utrecht. Johan en Lenie had four children.

On May 23, 2013 Paulyne Beyen and Cor Moesbergen got married in the town hall of Nijkerk in the province of Gelderland.

Paulyne belongs to the Gijsbert branch of the IJsselstein family, Dirk Jan subbranch (15.28). She was born in Hilversum and is living for many years in Nijkerk. Cor comes from Nijkerk.


On April 15, 2013 Mrs Anneke (Ans) Pouwels Beijen passed away in Hengelo. She was 75 years old.
Her official name was Johanna Maria Beijen. She was born in 1938 in Hengelo as a daughter of Herman Beijen and Marie Frieling. She belonged to the Hengelo family, 7.15.
In 1960 she married Jan Antonius (Anton) Pouwels, who was born in Almelo. They had four children. Anton Pouwels passed away in 1999.

News that arrived somewhat delayed: on July 5, 2012 Avery Alexis and Blair Mackenzie Beyen were born in Mountain Home (Arkansas). They are the daughters of David Alan Beyen and Heather Nicole Beyen Steffens. On the overview of the members of the Jan Thomas branch of the IJsselstein family Avery and Blair have got the numbers 17.59 and 17.60.
On the photo Avery is sitting on the left and Blair on the right.
The great-grandfather of Avery and Blair, Jan Cornelis Beijen (14.99) (later John C. Beyen), and his family emigrated in 1956 from the Netherlands to the United States.
